THE STORY
Looking for ways to overcome their isolation and boredom during the 2020 global pandemic, Brad Hays and his father Thomas Hays (1950-2021) invented a word game from scraps of wood and cloth found around the house. “Having only a Monopoly board game and a deck of playing cards became quite dull after a while,” Brad says. “So we decided to play something different.” Originally trying to build their own Scrabble game, they ended up crafting something unique—JABBLE!
THE OUTCOME
Instead of tile-laying words only two-dimensionally in crossword fashion, JABBLE also allows players to build words upwards in three dimensions. Block-laying words in this extra dimension enhances gameplay by enabling more elaborate word combinations and ways of scoring points. Therefore, players of JABBLE can improve their vocabulary, literacy, memory, math, and even their dexterity. Best of all, JABBLE's easy-to-learn gameplay and fun interlocking blocks brings friends and family together to play, learn, and reconnect. So get your game on! This tabletop game fosters an enjoyable and educational experience for both kids and adults alike.
